2011 Tuning car Volvo S60 Being Sprayed

Volvo has a reputation for engineering ultra safe cars and that includes the latest S60. World class safety features are standard such as a Side Impact Protection System where the strong side structure of the vehicle helps to absorb a severe side impact. The vehicle was designed with pedestrian safety in mind; the front of the car is smooth and clean lines and a low engine position to help minimize the impact with pedestrians and cyclists if an accident were to happen. Even the steering wheel is collapsible in case of an accident in order to prevent bodily harm to the driver. The anti-submarining feature prevents passengers from sliding under their seatbelts during severe impact. Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the car is swerving and Driver Alert Control helps to prevent collisions due to driver fatigue. This car will feature Volvo's groundbreaking Collision Warning system with Full Auto brake which actually detects pedestrians and automatically applies brake pressure when there is an imminent collision, even if the driver fails to brake on time.

There are many sweet options available such as a portable touch screen navigation system with 3D graphics with turn by turn directions. A Rear Seat Entertainment System available with dual DVD players. This system consists of two LCD monitors and DVD players situated right into the headrest, perfect for long road trips.

The S60 packs in so many great features for a luxury car; it's sporty, super safe since it's a Volvo and has been redesigned and buttoned up to be slicker and more dynamic than ever. With a base price of around $38k you get a luxury car that was built with safety in mind. If you want a good looking safe car, then this might just be the ideal car for you!

Volvo Art Session is the name of an experiment done by Volvo Cars Switzerland, in which ten street artists were provided with an S60 sedan that they could use as a canvas to create different designs.

The snow-white Volvo S60 was painted, sprayed and designed during five days in Zurich's main railway station. The live art happening took place in front of a white dropback canvas and attracted the attention of more than 35,000 commuters, who stopped by to see the unusual art show. "Our intention with this art project was to express and emphasize in a creative and innovative way the design of the Volvo S60", says Anouk Poelmann, President of Volvo Cars Switzerland.

While the S60 was being given ten different personalities, a high-end camera took one shot of the artwork every 10 seconds. The result is a 3-minute film you can check out below.

the 2011 Volvo S60-really coming

Driving can be a dangerous task; every time you go on the road you risk getting into an accident. If you care a lot about safety and don't want to sacrifice on style then the S60 would be a good choice since the vehicle offers a large number of safety features generally not found on the average car such as pedestrian detection. In terms of styling the S60 resembles a coupe and sleek European styling. The S60 is a midsize luxury auto and competes with powerful German players such as the C-Class Mercedes Benz and 3 series from BMW.

Despite its solid emphasis on driver safety, there is absolutely nothing boring about this car. It sports plenty of muscle and horsepower under the hood. This car will thrill with a six cylinder engine with 300 horsepower and 325 lb feet of torque. The S60 allows the driver to customize the driving experience via two separate driving modes; Sport Mode and Advanced Stability Control. The suspension system features Corner Traction Control and Advanced Stability Control. Acceleration is smooth and the car goes from zero to sixty in just 6.2 seconds; fast enough to leave everyone else behind the dust.

Step inside and you will find yourself in a refined and stylish interior. There's a standard screen in place which works with the optional navigation system. Every single vehicle is equipped with a climate control system, Bluetooth capabilities, a trip PC, connectivity with iPod players and a high definition radio. Cargo space is at 12 cubic feet which is competitive for its class. Opt for the premium package and you get a sunroof and cool xenon headlights. The multimedia package adds in an intuitive navigation system, a rearview camera and audio system with twelve speakers.

We've already had a first look at Heico Sportiv's package of goodies for the all-new 2011 Volvo S60, but the German company finally released a full set of photos and details surrounding its tuning program that includes styling and performance enhancements for the Swedish sedan.

Heico Sportive starts by upgrading the S60's exterior with a two-piece front spoiler, a rear diffuser that's optionally available with carbon fiber inlays and a discreet boot lid spoiler. The sedan is also lowered and fitted with sport springs, a four-tail pipe sport exhaust system and 18- or 20-inch inch alloy rims wrapped in low-profile rubber. Interior options are limited to aluminum pedal set, footrest and gear shift knob.

Under the hood, the tuner offers ECU upgrades for both the S60 2.0T and T6 petrol models. The 2.0-liter turbo engine receives a 47bhp and 50Nm boost for a total of 297bhp and 350Nm of peak torque.

In the AWD T6 version, output is lifted to 330bhp and 463Nm, which allows the Swedish sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 5.8 seconds (down from the standard car's 6.8 sec) and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph).

The German aftermarket company said it is also readying a recalibrated ECU for the T3, T4 and T5 variants of the new S60.
